It is with a very heavy heart that I write this bulletin article. Sadly, at the end of academic year, we will be losing three spectacular employees here at St. Edward’s: Tim Curtis, our facilities maintenance supervisor, Maureen Curtis, our Director of Religious Education, and Megan Weeks, our Director of Music. In so many ways, these three people are the heart and soul of this parish and it breaks my heart to see them go.
Tim has been my right hand man when it has come to helping me with the numerous legal and facility issues here at St. Edward’s. His positive attitude and his proactive spirit to keep the parish ship shape will be sorely missed.
Megan, our enthusiastic, dynamic, and multi-talented music director, has saturated the timbers of St. Edward’s with her melodic voice for years. She is a natural leader. Her magnum opus, her growth and leadership of the adult choir has been nothing short of outstanding.
Maureen, by her devotion, work ethic, and self-sacrificing service has been the beating heart of this parish. I, and many others, cannot imagine St. Edward’s without her. She was so much more than just a Director of Religious Education. She has made St. Edward’s a loving and welcoming home for parishioners.
I wish I had more space to sing all the praises of these three but there is only so much room in a bulletin article. Some of you have asked, "Fr. Scott, you do not seem your usual self?" Now you know the reason why. I will miss Tim, Maureen and Megan so very much. Please keep them in your prayers and remember to thank them for all their hard work as they begin another chapter in their lives.
