I am very blessed to be part of this parish and to serve in the Faith Formation Ministry that focuses on children in Pre-school through Eighth Grade. Today’s reading from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews begins with the line “Faith is the realization of what is hoped for…” We hope, in Religious Education, to bring faith to the children and families of the parish so that they may have hope in the ultimate goal of living with God in heaven. Although I am the face of this ministry, there are many people who dedicate their time and talent to teaching the children; these people, known as Catechists (echoers of faith), are: Erin Arceo, Julie Hines, Emma Hines, Kathleen Gutierrez, Jackie Macri, Judeth Davis, Erica Nelson, Tracy Paquin, Anne Casto, Angela Pickett, Sue Potts, Susan Schult, Michael Wills, Charlotte Bednarczyk and Judy Kelly. Thank you for your service!
I would like to especially thank and highlight three Catechists, Samantha Garner, Meghan Paternoster and Remington Tennessee. These three have recently graduated from high school and will be going away to college. They have spent their high school years in the Faith Formation Ministry while being active in their schools. Sam and Meghan have also been very active in other ministries of the parish: Sam is a Cantor and member of the Youth Choir; Meghan is a Lector and has helped behind the scenes in many Community Building events. All three have consistently helped with our annual Parish Fun Day. Please join me in praying for them as they begin the next chapter in their lives.
God Bless,
Maureen Curtis
