I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of those who worked so hard to make my installation Mass such a joyful occasion. Bishop Fisher gave a wonderful and powerful homily about the role of a pastor and about the priesthood. The choirs sounded magnificent blended together. The Knights of Columbus added a sense of dignity to the occasion. I was deeply humbled by the kind words and the proclamation from our mayor and parishioner, Fred Robinson. I also wanted to thank all of the different liturgical ministers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make sure everything went so smoothly. I'd also like to thank my staff for all the hard work they did putting together the program and for their support. I also wanted to thank the community building committee for working so hard to put together and organizing such a delicious and beautiful reception.
I remember my ordinations to the deaconate and the priesthood very fondly. However, when you get ordained to the priesthood or the deaconate, you are laying down your life for the Church. However, you are not exactly sure what part of the Church you are going to serve. You haven't gotten the chance to meet your people yet or see their faces. However, I have gotten the chance to get to know you and fall in love with you all here at St. Edward’s. I am so deeply honored and humbled to be your newly installed pastor. I look forward to our many adventures together. St. Edward the Confessor - pray for us!
God Bless,
Fr. Scott
