CATHOLIC CHARITIES PROVIDING FINANCIAL HELP
TO PARISHIONERS IN NEED
Catholic Charities will be visiting parishes throughout the Archdiocese to interview in person individuals and families in need. The plan is to come to St. Ed’s in September but we don’t have a specific date as yet. If you or your family is in need, please call or send an email to office@stedwardbowie.com to learn more.
In the midst of the current pandemic many parishioners suffer domestic violence at home and need help. 1 out of 4 women, 1 out of 7 men have suffered severe physical violence at home in the hands of their spouse. This summer the Catholic Charities Priest Domestic Violence Advisory Committee and the Parish Partners Program updated the Domestic Violence Pastors’ Resource Packet which contains helpful guidance how to assist families suffering abuse.
If you are suffering from domestic abuse, help is available at: 1 800‐799‐7233 (24 hours); 1 800‐787‐3224 (TTY). For Catholic Charities resources how to develop a domestic violence ministry at your parish see www.catholiccharitiesdc.org/familypeace.
