JOIN THE CATHOLIC ADVOCACY NETWORK!
Join the Maryland Catholic Conference's Catholic Advocacy Network (CAN) for an easy and effective way to contact your elected officials and make your voice heard on the issues that matter to us as Catholics. Membership in CAN not only helps us to stay informed about legislative issues and activities, but provides a way for members to directly connect with lawmakers and fellow Catholics to do the following:
Ensure our legislators know the Catholic position on these and many other life issues. Please visit the following website to get more information about the work of the Maryland Catholic Conference. Look for the Get Involved tab and join the Catholic Advocacy Network!

As Catholics, we have a responsibility to engage in public and political life, to advocate and speak up for the common good, the poor, the most vulnerable, and human rights.
“It is necessary that all participate, each according to his position and role, in promoting the common good. This obligation is inherent in the dignity of the human person. . . . As far as possible citizens should take an active part in public life.” (nos. 1913-1915)
The Conference oversees and implements the Church’s state-level advocacy and public education efforts from its office in downtown Annapolis.

The Maryland Catholic Conference has updated important health information on its website. The COVID pandemic has increased awareness of the need for guidance regarding health care decision making, particularly for at-risk groups. The materials offer a review of key Catholic principles as related to health care/end of life issues, a template for preparation of health care directives, and more. The materials may be found on the Respect Life section of its website,
