Someone brought up to me this past weekend, Father, are we still going to do the Stations of the Cross for Lent? I was trying to figure out how to pull it off: Do we do them outside? What if it rains? How do we maintain social distancing?
We still cannot sing, do soup supper, or crowd into the main narthex as is our usual custom for stations given the current COVID situation. However, we have come up with a solution to keep things safe. Come and check it out! Here will be the schedule for Stations of the Cross for Lent:
February 26 – 7:30pm
March 5 – 3:00pm
March 12 – 7:30pm
March 19 – 3:00pm
March 26 – 7:30pm
Hope to see you there. Let us keep praying that the COVID cases continue to drop! St. Edward the Confessor, pray for us!
Due to the fact that we are unable to hand out the actual "Rice Bowls" at this time, we have attached a link that should you like to contribute click on their link below.
Lenten Rice Bowl Project
In addition to our regular Confessions on Saturday from 4-5pm, special Lenten Confessions have been added on Wednesdays from 7-8pm. Please park in the back of the door and follow the directions on the CCD entrance door.
The Lenten Vocations Tree is up. Please feel free to take more than one Seminarian to prayer for during Lent. This is also being done virtually this year. Also, please visit our home page on the website to pick your Seminarians.
Warm Nights 2021 - St. Edwards will be supporting Village Baptist Church in its Warm Nights ministry again this year. Of course the pandemic has altered many programs and Warm Nights is no exception. Clients are being housed in one or more hotels in the county and have great need of packaged lunches and snacks. Village has asked if we would provide bottled water to supplement the packaged meals they will be preparing, and we have agreed. If you have any questions, please contact Tim Looney, 301 805-1352 or Pam Buzzerd, 301 466-4634.
Also, St. Pius X (March 14-20) has a much greater list, if you able to help, please see the flyer below.
Thank you.
