We often think of the Holy Family as living pristine and perfect life here on earth. We see the Holy Family from the inside since we look them with eyes of faith. But from the outside, things look embarrassing:               

Fr. Scott invites all young adults between the ages of 21-35 to come to his home on Saturday, December 29, after the 5:30pm Mass to hangout with other young adults in the Bowie area. Please bring your favorite Christmas dessert or beverage to share!

Well, I cannot believe it but the Advent season is finally coming to a close. Monday will be Christmas Eve and then Tuesday is Christmas day! I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by.              

The people in the Gospel today think that John the Baptist is the Christ because he was convincing even tax collectors and soldiers to act justly and not to collect more than prescribed or extort anyone.

All those in High School are welcome to join us on Sunday, December 16th, from 6:00-8:30pm in the hall for our Christmas Party! Bring your pillows and comphy clothes as we will be watching “It’s A Wonderful Life” Pizza, popcorn and hot chocolate are on the menu!!! Bring a friend.

O COME LET US ADORE HIM!! Prepare your hearts for Jesus. Please join us for a Holy Hour of Adoration on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00pm. Sit in silence, pray the rosary, read and meditate on some spiritual writings or lives of the Saints, journal…..go to Confession….. Allow Jesus to speak to you. What does HE want to give You for Christmas? Come and See…………………...

St. Edward’s will host 3 nights of this 9 day Advent Novena Mass, December 15th, 16th and 17th. 7:00pm Rosary 7:30pm Holy Mass. See the flyer in next week’s bulletin for information.

As we are preparing for the birth of Christ this Advent Season, we are told in the Gospel this Sunday of how John the Baptist was proclaiming repentance in preparation for the coming of Jesus.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available Wednesdays in Advent from 7:00-8:00pm, in addition to the regular time on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00pm.

The Handmaid of the Lord.... A musical reflection to honor our Blessed Mother. December 8th from 7:30-9:00pm in the church. Donations accepted towards the new roof.

Advent begins with a command to be watchful - to be alert.

Please join us the for the next First Friday Holy Hour on December 7th. Come spend some time with Jesus. Please join us in a Holy Hour of Adoration on the First Friday of every month from 9:30am-10:30am. Sit in silence, pray the rosary, read and meditate on some spiritual writings or lives of the Saints or journal.
