**Fall Kickoff Cookout - Sept 9th!!**! At 6pm in the Church Parking Lot. Come join for food and games! Please RSVP to Karen at [email protected] by Thursday, September 6th, so we have enough food.

We are in need of Ministers of Holy Communion to visit the elderly. Our parish ministers to 4 local facilities. 42 of our parishioners cannot attend weekly Mass. As we all do, they long to receive the Bread of Life. Your commitment can be as little as one hour every other month. Training will be provided. St. Edward’s is looking for a part-time Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Job responsibilities include monitoring the upkeep of the buildings and grounds, coordination, supervision and project management of outside contractors. I would like to thank all of those, especially the Community Building Committee, for all of their hard work in preparing for my Installation Mass and reception this Sunday. I am so deeply honored to be installed your pastor here at St. Edward’s.              

All are invited to Fr. Scott’s Installation as Pastor on August 26th at  the 11:30am Mass. A reception is to follow. From my window in the parish office this summer, I’ve looked out on a lot of greenery.  Midsummer is the season of fullness and rest; all is as large and green as it will be, and the world seems to takes a contented pause. 

The readings in the Mass today are about hunger. As the antiphon in the Psalm tells us, "The hand of the Lord feeds us, he answers all of our needs." God designed us in such a way that we hunger for that which we need.
