Hello St. Edward’s Community! My name is Fredy Calderon.

On Friday, May 31st, at 9:45am, come and Honor our Blessed Mother: Queen of Heaven at the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin (Our Lady of Rock Springs) at Sacred Heart Parish (Main church on Rt. 450). All ladies are welcome.

In contrast to the post-Christian culture today, which sees Christianity as old, the apostles saw Christianity as new.

This past Sunday, we had our Confirmation here at St. Edward’s. We have been praying for these Confirmandi throughout the year. I remember fondly the retreat we had to the National Shrine where the bible stories we have been learning about, really came to life.

May 5th- Cinco De Mayo Themed Youth Night/Mother’s Day cards from 6:30-8:30pm May 19th- 1st High School Youth Retreat from 12:30-4:30pm in the hall. If you can come to the 11:30 Mass, we will be sitting together. Our theme is Becoming Disciples of Jesus. Please rsvp Karen at [email protected] to make sure we have enough food for everyone!

St. Edward’s is looking for a part-time Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Job responsibilities include monitoring the upkeep of the buildings and grounds, coordination and supervision of project management of outside contractors and one maintenance employee. ST. EDWARD’S NURSES MINISTRY Health care can be very confusing.  We often leave the Doctors office not understanding what he wants us to do. This can be very dangerous and has a simple solution. Doctor 101.    Will clear up many of your questions about the healthcare system and the tricks managing the system Diabetes  & you- Basic understanding regarding types, signs and symptoms prevention types of treatments. Health Nutrition-  Healthy and Tasty foods that may elimination/ delay certain diseases  Heart disease & you- Types, signs and symptoms, prevention and treatment Hypertension & you - signs and symptoms prevention and treatment Pulmonary Disease /Sleep apnea-COPD, Asthma definition signs and symptoms & treatment –how do you know you have sleep apnea and how do you treat it? Our seminar is to enlighten and empower the participants.  Hopefully, they will use their new found information when making a care provider appointment.  or have a better understanding of their health care issues and treatments that are available.   May 18th, 8:30am-12:30pm in the hall.

This Sunday our Confirmandi will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Bishop Dorsonville will seal our young people with the Holy Spirit and unite them ever more closely to the divine life of Jesus Christ.
